About Us
OutSCIder Classroom’s mission is to provide educators and high-quality instructional materials and supports to make their classrooms engaging places for children to learn to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and conservationists.
What we do
OutSCIder Classroom creates free, standards-aligned videos and instructional materials that bring science and social studies concepts to life in America's National Parks. Perfect for kids ages 10-15, our short, engaging videos teach students how our world works and about our country's history. In addition to sharing our content on our YouTube Channel, we are also broadcast on public television
Each episode is filmed on location in a National Park and paired with investigations aligned to Next Generation Science Standards and the National Curriculum Standards for Social Studies, making all our resources easily to use for any educator. In our lesson plans, students discuss natural phenomena, create models, collect and analyze data, and solve problems in their community. By making all our resources, video and lesson plans, free to access, we ensure that every student as the opportunity to learn through their public lands.
Wither you are classroom teacher, run an after school program, or just a family with a curious child, OutSCIder Classroom makes learning a blast!

Meet Your Host
Chris Anderson is the host and executive producer of OutSCIder Classroom, a video series that teaches science, history, and environmental science concepts through our National Parks. Originally from Elyria, Ohio, Chris began his career teaching science at Princeton High School, where he honed his passion for inspiring curiosity in young people. Since then, he has worked as an instructional coach for Hamilton County Education Service Center, working with K-12 science teachers across schools in Southwest Ohio.
Chris came up with the idea for OutSCIder Classroom by combining his joy in teaching science and his love of the outdoors. The project began in 2021 and has featured nearly 20 national parks, produced almost 100 videos for the web, and is now broadcast on Cincinnati Educational Television (CET) and ThinkTV, Southwest Ohio's PBS stations. In addition to education videos, OutSCIder Classroom provides teachers with free, high-quality instructional materials that align the parks with learning standards, getting students engaged with science and STEM while connecting them to our public lands.
